Robert Nesta “Bob” Marley, born on 6 February 1945 was a Jamaican reggae singer, songwriter, musician, and guitarist who achieved international fame and acclaim.
He is considered one of the most influential musicians of all time. He is credited with making reggae music popular around the world.

He was presented with the United Nations Peace Medal of the Third World in 1978. He earned this distinction for his brave work campaigning for justice and peace during a time of great political unrest and violence in the streets of Kingston, Jamaica.
